Educational Video Suggestions
Technical Support and How To's

How do I view the videos?
Simply click on the link – it will take you directly to the original file posted and
publicly available on YouTube.com or a similar website.

Can I download the video files?
Yes, but make sure you are not violating copyright laws!
To download a video file from YouTube or a similar website, the easiest way is
to use Real One player. Once Real One is installed on your computer, every
time you view a video in your web browser, Real One will give you an option to
download the file.
The files are automatically stored in My Documents/My Videos/RealPlayer
Downloads.
The only disadvantage of using this method is that the files are stored in flv
format that may not work with some media players.

Alternatively, you can use one of many programs that allow you to download
video files from YouTube.com and similar websites, such as YouTube
Downloader Pro or GetGo Dowanload Manager. Visit www.download.com to
find a programs that is best for you.

What is the best way to incorporate a video in my teaching slides?
The most reliable way is to download the file first and then either play it in a
media player, or incorporate it directly into Power Point slides. To add the
video file to a Power Point slide, click on Insert and chose Movie. The file will
appear as an object in your slide.
An alternative “low-tech” solution is to paste the link to the video in your slide.
Clicking on the link during your presentation will automatically open your web
browser and take you to the web page with the video clip. You can also
embed the video in the slide using You Tube’s embed function. The downside
of this approach is that your computer must be on-line during your
presentation.
