Research Interests: Training Effectiveness Evaluation
I am a greedy and practical person. White water rafting, corporate celebrations, cultural
awareness discussions - it all sounds great, but I want to see return on investment.
In the US alone, corporate training amounts to $70 billion per annum and cultural diversity
management is a $10 billion industry. Despite the huge cost, there has been virtually no
research on effectiveness and utility of corporate training in general and cross-cultural
training in particular.
Through my research, I am trying to answer the following questions:
How effective is cross-cultural training?
What types of cross-cultural training are most effective depending on the task and workgroup
characteristics?
What is the return on investment in cross-cultural training and how can it be maximized?
